Background

After the successful fit of their sign at Barton-Knott Travels travel centre in Anstey they contacted One Creative for a sign and internal graphics for a new joint venture with Jet2 Holidays. Jet2, branded one half of the centre and the other was for Barton Knott’s branding. They only fixed thing they wanted was to have two world maps on the wall, one for a children's area and the other one that could be used to show peoples destinations on. They also wanted a lite up sign to promote the Travel Centre. This would be seen after hours as it’s also near an entrance to a 24 hour supermarket. The sign had to be branded Jet2 Holidays but still feature the branding of Barton-Knott.

Challenges

There were a few challenges with this job, with the main one being that due to it being a shopping mall and a public walking area the fit had to be finished by 8am. This meant starting the outside sign fit at 5.30am. The outside fit didn’t go to plan as the end wall on the left hand side wasn’t straight so the decision was made to trim off a bit of metal to fit. This didn’t take away from the visual look of the sign so everything was good. The inside fit went through a little smoother even when the client changed the oder of the images. Again, this was sorted without any fuss and the client was very happy.

Solution

The main solution for this fit was that the minor challenges that came up were sorted quickly and efficiently. The graphics that were chosen really complimented each other and represented the various holiday destinations they sell. With the opposite side to the booking centre branded Jet2 Holidays the Barton-Knott side was a wash with colour, interesting world graphics and dreamy destinations. The brief was achieved all within budget.
